Chemistry Laboratory

Laboratories used for scientific research take many forms because of the differing requirements in the various fields of science & engineering. In Chemistry laboratory, the use of workbenches are available to students to ensure comfortable working conditions. Cabinets for the storage of laboratory equipments and chemicals are also available in laboratory. It is traditional for a student to record experiment inference in a laboratory notebook. Laboratory equipment refers to the various tools and equipments used by the students like pH-meter, conductometer, viscometer, weighing machine, hot plate, mechanical shaker etc. as well as the glass ware such as beaker, reagent bottle, test tube, burette, pipette, conical flask and even a thermometer. Besides these, safety equipments such as eye washer, aprons, full covered shoes, safety goggles, safety gloves are also available for use by students. Acid neutralization tank and base neutralization tank are also present. Proper drainage is available for the disposal of harmful, hazardous chemicals.

Physics Laboratory

Name of the respective labs:
1. Engineering Physics Lab
2. Engineering Physics Lab (Dark Room)
Brief Description of Labs:
Engineering Physics Lab is equipped with instruments of proper engineering applications. Also proper safety is maintained within the lab. In this lab the experiments are mainly based on basic engineering physics knowledge. Instruments involving the measurement of general properties of materials and optical properties of light use to run in full swing throughout the semester which help the students for their advancement in knowledge of physics.
Experiment's Name (Few):
Engineering Physics Lab:
1. Determination of the Rigidity Modulus of a material.
2. Determination of the Coefficient of Viscosity of liquid.
3. Determination of the wavelength of an unknown light source by Newton`s Ring Experiment.
4. Determination of the sensitivity of a Thermo-couple.
5. Determination of Hall Coefficient of a semi-conductor sample.

Interaction centre

The language laboratory is situated at a very pivotal area of electrical building beside the dark room of physics laboratory. The laboratory is specious with ample light and air being ventilated through the wide window .The room has the capacity to seat 40 students together. The PC is placed on the table beside the white board attached on the wall close to the wide window. There is a television also connected with the pc which helps students in audio visual purpose. Its also used to support the power point presentation the learning process is designed by WBUT syllabus. A podium is placed in front of the white board for making speech or for conducting any event. Important belonging like buzzer ,microphone, stopwatch are kept in the drawer attached with the podium . All these necessities are required for organising public speaking as well as GD and debate. A large table is also kept in front of the PC table for organising GD.
